Nowadays, the fitness realm lives both good and bad days. Good days because of the advanced research and scientific breakthroughs made almost every day. Such advanced knowledge includes nutrition and dieting techniques, new training styles and techniques, lifestyle twists, and knowledge on supplements that help us improve our body composition and improve our health. So far, so good. We are also living in bad days due to still having “brahs” around (broscience enthusiasts), silly myths floating around and straight up crappy knowledge and training and diet methodologies. This battle will remain ignited for some time. Anyway, it seems that we have a new “guru” emerging every other day claiming that he holds the key to “gainsville” and has successfully formulated an elixir to keep us alive and sexy forever. And then we get a vicious cycle of more bullshit floating around and people falling for such traps and marketing strategies that are a by-product of greed, greed or both! So many contradictory opinions swimming in the fitness realm which causes even more confusion, especially to beginners. “Where is the truth? Who is right and who is wrong?” are questions beginners often ask themselves after attempting to research the internet looking for genuine answers. Unfortunately, those beginners do not know how to go about researching a matter properly and definitely do not know which “experts” to listen to.
Personally, I am no expert! I am an average guy who just happens to be a fitness nerd. Meaning, I am always willing to learn! “The moment you think you know it all is the moment you become ignorant.” or so goes the adage. In addition to playing soccer since the age of 4 and playing for many clubs, I have had the pleasure to be lifting weights for about 6 years now. Not bad, given my age. Or so I like to think! So, in my ultimate quest to perfection (doesn’t exist), I have been reading numerous research papers and the opinions of experts, fitness enthusiasts, scientists, fitness models, well-respected figures and broscientists during my limited time on this planet. So, I only know a little bit, but I always try to improve myself and seek every opportunity to learn and educate myself on what really works! This holds true to this day.
Even though I started reading so much as a hobby and to improve myself, a couple of years ago, the fruits of my labor were rewarded by getting a prestigious job in the supplements’ industry. This is where things changed dramatically. I have had the pleasure and honor to work for/with some of the most prestigious experts in the fitness industry. I am truly lucky to have such a job in a field that I absolutely love! This is my passion. The human body is a miracle and we certainly discover something new about it every day. Anyway, I have had the honor to work with and learn from those individuals and interact with them on a personal level. Some of those experts include (names will not be disclosed for privacy reasons):
- Well known fitness models.
- Actors and actresses that are into fitness.
- Nationwide popular coaches.
- Scientists.
- Strength training and endurance coaches.
- Professional bodybuilders.
- Professional powerlifters.
- Professional cyclists and endurance athletes.
- Supplement gurus who really know what they are talking about.
- Well-respected online figures that I did not have a face-to-face interaction with, yet still managed to learn and continue to learn from. – I am sure you read of their websites frequently 😉 –
- Nutritionists.
- Supplements formulators (chemists).
- Scientific authors.
- Many more.
The list goes on. This is not to brag or anything. Not at all! If anything, it makes me feel humbled and lucky. I have learned a lot from them and will continue to do so as much as I can to better improve myself, my life, advance my knowledge and pass on the proper knowledge to those who need it.
In an attempt to fight ignorance and give back to the fitness community, I have created this section, experts say, to feature a handful of those experts on a frequent basis. I will be doing interviews with those experts, live broadcasts so you guys can ask questions and interact with them, training with them and seeking their knowledge on many matters to learn from their experiences and much more!
The first interview in this “series” will feature a well-known female bodybuilder and figure competitor who has been sponsored by numerous big supplement companies and won many competitions throughout her bodybuilding career. She is one of the most knowledgeable and smartest individuals I have had the pleasure to work with! She is also funny as hell! Till then, stay tuned!
